Hey Everyone,

My Name is Al Stawicki and I will be your children’s science teacher this year.

Classroom Goals:

1. Create a positive attitude toward science and science experimentation.
2. Learn how scientists work and follow the “scientific method” in all experiments, demonstrations and activities.
3. Learn the names of all experimental equipment and the correct way to use each piece of equipment.
4. Practice lab safety and follow all safety rules and procedures.
5. Learn how to work together in order to solve problems and draw conclusions.
6. Learn science history and study famous scientists and their contributions.
7. Increase science literacy, learn new vocabulary, and develop problem solving skills and procedures.

Course Curriculum:

1. Problem solving approach using experimentation, demonstration, group projects and oral presentations.
2. Areas of study include the fields of general science, earth science, biology, chemistry, and physics.
3. All student experimentation work will be done in a lab notebook and will follow the “PHEOC” method (Problem, Hypothesis, Experiment, Observation, and Conclusion).
4. Students can work by themselves, with partners, or in small groups.
5. Magic will also be used at times to develop problem solving skills; creating hypothesis formation; developing experimentation skills; making better observations; and lastly, drawing better conclusions.

Thank you and I hope to see you soon!

Magic Al

You’ll love this Al…..On the first day of science, I got our book out to teach the “scientific method”, and Angela taught it to me after your class!!! I love it. She really enjoys your class. 🙂
