Tour de Math

Date: November 19, 2013 Author: Judy Albrecht Categories: 3 - 4, 5 - 6, Information 0

Last week the students learned about a game from the Philippines. It is a three in a row game called Tapatan… Three in a row games have been around since ancient times… They have found examples of these games on the pyramids in Egypt. Our three in a row game in the United States of course is Tic-Tac-Toe. We made the game boards and learned how to play the game… I was amazed by the students’ creativity, some took the game to a whole new level and made additions to the game board and taught each other new ways to play the game…

I hope that the students have shared the new game with you and that you had some fun playing with this new math game.
