HACIL is so pleased to announce our part in the event below….
On Monday May 19, the Youth Conservation Alliance in conjunction with the Hayward Center for Individualized Learning (HACIL) will be hosting a multimedia presentation specifically designed for kids & the outdoor world around them. The event will be held in the main auditorium at the brand new HACIL School facility in downtown Hayward (next to Walmart.)
The YCA is a purpose built charity established to deliver practical environmental education programs to children of all ages. This is done primarily through Hayward area fishing programs. At this event, you will see videos of kids catching not only fish, but the top of the food chain predator, the Muskie!  Video high-lights will be showcased from Hayward’s Moose Lake Youth Muskie Hunt which has helped kids catch over 200 Muskies in the past 5 years.
Other highlights of the program will be “live” birds including a Great Horned Owl & Red Tail Hawk. This will be an up close and personal view of these magnificent Birds of Prey. Bring your CAMERA for a photo opportunity with the birds after the show!
Also at this event, you will see incredible never before seen footage taken from the YCA’s high-power biology microscope which allows kids to see all the things that make up the Hayward Lake ecosystems at up to 1,000x magnification. You actually see live fish inside the eggs before they are hatched. You’ll also see macro-invertebrates & copepod wanderers that were studied during water testing on both Moose & Round Lake in Hayward last spring in a joint effort between the YCA & the Dept. of Natural Resources.Seeing kids using sophisticated tools to examine the environment while “keeping it simple” through the sport of fishing is at the heart of what we do.
Other topics will include Fire Prevention, Boating & Water Safety, and general safety tips for kids to follow while being outdoors.
Please join us for this very special event on Monday, May 19. Times will be posted as the event draws closer. Multiple programs are likely to be shown throughout the day to ensure everyone gets an opportunity to see the show.
Special Guests Include:
– Kevin Bushnick, Founder of the Youth Conservation Alliance
& National Youth Fishing Director for Muskies Inc.

at Oakton College in Northern Illinois.
