HACIL Board Member Elections

Date: April 9, 2014 Author: Crystal Categories: Information, Parent Group 0

Dear Families,

There is to be an election this spring for HACIL’s Board of Directors as we have a few seats either vacant and/or up for re-election. The HACIL board is comprised of HACIL parents and community members. We need your help in finding interested persons to fill the vacant seats. The purpose of a board member of HACIL is to uphold the vision of HACIL:

The purpose of the Hayward Center for Individualized Learning (HACIL) is to cooperate with the mission of the Hayward Community Schools in creating a world-class educational program by empowering parents to take responsibility for the learning outcomes of their children in order to produce well-informed citizens of good character.  HACIL seeks to:

1.     Develop programs and policies intended to nurture a child’s need to be known and accepted by a significant adult in his/her life.  It is understood that the first designee for this role is the parent.

2.     Encourage every student to develop a love for learning and to achieve his/her academic potential via the implementation of an individualized educational plan which is custom-fit to each child’s learning needs within the framework of the Hayward School District’s Benchmarks and Standards.

3.     Offer options for group and community-based learning.

If you yourself or someone you know may be interest in participating on HACIL’s Board of Directors, please contact the HACIL office. For more information on participation requirements, meeting times, and term duration, please contact HACIL at hacil@hayward.k12.wi.us. The board plans to make official nominations at our next board meeting (April 15) for the election in June.
