Music and Art Enrichment classes are preparing for a very special performance!  Grades PreK – 6 will all be contributing to the production of  Why Mosquitoes Buzz in People’s Ears, a musical adaption of a West African folk tale.

PLEASE mark the date on your calendar!

April 28 6:30 pm  Tuesday Enrichment classes

April 30 6:30 pm Thursday Enrichment classes

Students in grades 3 – 6 will learn songs, speaking parts, instrumental accompaniments, dances, and acting parts. During art classes with Ms. J. they will create their own animal headpieces as well as stage elements for our production. They will receive copies of the script for practicing at home. Parts will be assigned during the month of January.

Students in grades 1 – 2 will learn all of the songs during music class and create their own animal headpieces during art classes. They will be on stage for the entire production.

Students in PreK – K will be on stage for several of the songs, wearing the special animal headpieces they will create.

BALL-CAP NEEDED!

To create their animal headpieces, all students in Grades 1 – 6 need a baseball-style cap. The cap should fit the child well. These caps will be transformed into amazing creatures during art classes. Please put your child’s name inside the cap and bring it to the Art room ASAP.

CLOTHING FOR THE PERFORMANCE

All students will be dressed in black pants and black tops. These do not have to be fancy or brand new but they do need to be black. The idea will be to bring attention to the beautiful and creative set pieces and animal heads that the children design and create.

IF FOR ANY REASON, your child CANNOT participate in this production, please let Naomi Haugen know as soon as possible!

We are looking forward to an exciting semester of creativity and artistic growth!

Please contact Naomi Haugen if you have questions.
