Date: April 6, 2016 Author: Naomi Haugen Categories: 1 - 2, Pre-K / K, Teachers 0

Here’s a reminder about costumes for the upcoming production.

TOO MUCH NOISE!

Tuesday, April 19 and Thursday, April 21

6:30 pm

PLEASE SEND ALL COSTUME ITEMS TO CLASS ON APRIL 12 and APRIL 14!

Animals:   All students in PreK-K class and several in Thursday 1-2 class will be animals for the play.  Instructions and materials are being sent home this week.  You do not need to follow the directions exactly!  Be creative!  The template for the “bib” is not included. Simply cut the tagboard to fit your child’s torso (a large oval) and decorate appropriately to represent the animal. You may disregard the instructions about wearing jeans. Any color pants and tops are acceptable, but it would be good if the color “matches” the animal, if possible.

Jacob, Tulip, Skipper, Scooter, Trixie, and Sport:  The children playing these roles should dress “old-fashioned” and “farm-like.”  Examples: Long skirts, aprons bib-tops or jeans, bandanas, plaid shirts, straw hats. Dress-up boxes, closets and thrift stores are good resources!

The “Wise” Men:   The boys playing these roles should dress to look “important” and “smart” in an “old-fashioned” way.  A man’s shirt worn backwards as a tunic could look like a judge’s robe.  Shirts and ties or “suits” would also be appropriate. Accessorize with fake glasses or hats.  Mustaches or beards can be painted on.

Shoes:  Safety is important!  Please no fancy dress-up shoes, sandals, or flip-flops on stage!

Please contact Naomi Haugen (nhaugen@hayward.k12.wi.us) with questions or concerns.

Thanks very much!
