Dear 7-12 grade families,

My name is Christy Davis and I will be teaching your student this semester for speech. I enjoyed meeting each of them this last week and look forward to an exciting semester.
This course will allow students to learn valuable techniques to writing and presenting speeches through lecture, observation, peer evaluation, and personal experience. Below is our intended schedule. Please notice that your student will be asked to prepare and deliver 5 speeches through-out the semester with the performance dates included. We will work on structure and content in the classroom, however, please allow time for your student to practice at home. I intend for this class to be a fun, non-threatening and relaxed approach to speech. My main objective is to help your student overcome personal obstacles or anxiety about delivering a speech and to help them achieve self-confidence in the activity. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me at HACIL or by email: cdavis@hayward.k12.wi.us.
