Dear 7-12 grade families,

Upon returning to school on January 3rd and 5th, we will begin our Spring semester of classes at HACIL.  For the 7-12 grade students, that means we will begin our new drama class and preparing a play for production in April.  We will have 14- 1 hour practices to be ready for performance night.  That doesn’t seem like much time, but we will be ready.  In order to expedite the process, I have already chosen the play for each class and intend to have casting complete for our first read through on January 3 (Tuesday class) and January 5 (Thursday class).  Below is the selection for each class and a link to a brief summary of the play, including a script sample. Please take the time to mark the performance date on your calendar and read the available script sample.   Being part of a play is a big commitment and I want you each to weigh the decision carefully.  If you choose to not participate, please notify me immediately by email at cdavis@hayward.k12.wi.us.

Tuesday 7-8 grade drama: Will be performing The Great American Talent Show found at https://www.pioneerdrama.com/SearchDetail.asp?pc=GREATAMERI&id=0

Tuesday 9-12 grade drama: Will be performing You’re Driving Me Crazy found at https://www.pioneerdrama.com/SearchDetail.asp?pc=YOUREDRIVI&id=0

This is a 40 minute production that will be performed Tuesday, April 25, 2017 immediately following the 7/8 grade performance.

The Thursday 7-8 grades will be combining with the 9-12 grade class to perform Princess Who? found at https://www.pioneerdrama.com/SearchDetail.asp?pc=PRINWHO&id=1

This is a 55 minute production and will be performed either Thursday, April 27 or Saturday, April 29 depending on the spring sports schedule.  The 7/8 grade students joining the high school drama class will miss cooking and have either study hall or set production during their 1pm drama class.

Please Note: Although I will work to avoid calling any after school rehearsals, each play may require 1 or 2 extra rehearsals as we near performance night.  I will try to accommodate your busy schedules and respect your time constraints.

If you have any questions or need further information, please let me know. I’m looking forward to an exciting and fun time working with you all.  Enjoy your winter break!

Ms. Christy
