HACIL 2017-2018 Enrollment

Date: May 17, 2017 Author: Crystal Categories: Information 0

Hello Everyone,

Just so you know:

HACIL is still accepting application for the 2017-18 school year. However, HACIL’s board of directors decided to put an enrollment limit in place this year due to an overwhelming interest early this spring. With that said, I am writing to inform you that HACIL will be conducting a lottery for open space and here is the process:

Prior to the enrollment deadline, the HACIL board will set an enrollment limit during a regularly scheduled board meeting. All returning, as well as new students will be notified by e-mail of the enrollment limit and of the following procedure:

Lottery Process:

At which time the HACIL board of directors deems it necessary to impose an enrollment limit; applications may be accepted through the process of a lottery. The officers applying the lottery will include three individuals from three different areas of HACIL to ensure security and authenticity. Lottery officers will include a HACIL administrative staff member, a HACIL board member and the direct board liaison.

  • Returning students will receive first placement.
  • Siblings of returning students will receive second placement. Should the number of sibling applications exceed the enrollment limit set by the HACIL board of directors, they shall be part of a lottery for those spaces on an individual basis.
  • New student enrollment will be placed last. Should the number of new applications exceed the enrollment limit set by the HACIL board of directors, they shall be part of a lottery for those spaces on an individual basis.
  • No special consideration will be given for in or out of district applications.

Lottery Qualifications:

  • All applications will be collected until the enrollment date of June 15.
  • All applications must be complete with both the HACIL enrollment form and open enrollment filed electronically with the state, if applicable.

Lottery Results and Notification of Acceptance:

When the officers are in agreement as to who is to fill the available spaces, they will sign and date the results and forward them to the HACIL office for notification. The office will make arrangements to notify families of the acceptance or denial.

Waiting List:

The applicants not selected to be part of HACIL’s enrollment will be kept on a waiting list for potential openings. In the event that a selected applicant is unable to follow through with their enrollment, those on the waiting list will be contacted in the order of the original lottery.  Potential openings will be awarded until no later than August 1st.

Thank you for your understanding AND for your help in making HACIL a wonderful educational opportunity. We are so pleased to be growing so much as to require such limitations. We value each child and strive to ensure that we are doing the best we can by each one.
